Doyle Gene Wilson

Doyle Gene Wilson age 73 of Somerset, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on March 9, 2025. He was born May 3, 1951 to the late Delno and Elsie Wilson. He was of the Baptist faith. Also he was a member of Somerset Masonic Lodge #111.

Doyle retired from Somerset City Gas Service where he held many different positions. On November 2, 1973 he married Judy (Burton) Wilson. From that marriage came two sons Travis Gene and Todd Lucas Wilson.

Doyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns and watching old westerns. He loved his family especially his grandson Tycen.

Doyle is survived by his wife Judy, two sons Travis (Sheri) Wilson and Todd (Mackie) Wilson. One grandson Tycen Wilson, two step grandsons Logan and Braden Lawson and brother-in-law Mike Muse. Several nieces and nephews.

Besides his Mom and Dad, Doyle was preceded in death by three brothers Ardis, Arless and Bobby Wilson. Four sisters Lorene Hutcherson, Geraldine Coomer, Glenda Muse and Katie Wilson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 6pm-8pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the funeral home at 1pm with Bro. David Muse and Bro. Steven Bates officiating. Masonic rights service will be conducted prior to funeral service. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Travis Wilson, Todd Wilson, Tycen Wilson, Terry Burton, Eric Vaught, Logan Lawson, Braden Lawson and Doug Coomer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Ferguson Baptist Church.
