Estel Henderson JR

Estel L. Henderson Jr., age 79 of Science Hill, KY passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at his residence. Junior was born on November 3, 1946 at Nancy, KY, the son of Estel L. Henderson and Irene Godsey Henderson. Estel was a Christian, a retired employee of Crane Plumbing and Bluegrass Army Depot. He proudly served our country for four years in the US Air Force, three years in the Air National Guard and 7 years in the Army National Guard. Estel was an animal lover…. He enjoyed watching birds and his chickens. He was a talented mechanic and enjoyed rebuilding tractors, watching sports and car racing.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara B. Henderson of Science Hill. KY; one son, Gary Ball (Joy) of Science Hill; one grandson, Kyle Ball (Acey); and his great granddaughter, Emmalyn Ball; two sisters, Teresa Young (Mike) of Waynesburg and Linda Brinson of Somerset; extended family members, several nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends who are deeply saddened by his passing.

In addition to his parents, Estel and Irene Henderson; Estel Jr. was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Dean Henderson and Ray Eugene Henderson; and one sister-in-law, Marsha Jasper.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY 42503. His funeral service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Clark officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, 4790 W Hwy 80, Somerset, KY.
