Faye Louise Neal

Faye Louise Neal, age 91, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Jean Waddle Care Center.

She was born on January 4, 1934, in McCreary County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Willis B. and Helen Davenport Connors.

Louise enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Her life was centered around her loved ones, and she especially cherished family gatherings and tending to her flowers. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Neal, whom she married on June 30, 1952, in Winfield, Tennessee; her granddaughter, Tiffany Neal; her great-granddaughter, Rachel Ott; and her brother, Johnny Connors.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Willis Grayling Neal of Somerset; daughters, Theresa E. Lennon of Powell, Ohio, Katrina M. Flynn (Virgil) of South Amherst, Ohio, and Janice Lay of Nancy, Kentucky; her brother, Donald Connors (Shirley) of Somerset; her sister, Betty Herrin of Somerset; along with grandchildren, Andrea Malji, Britany Neal, Stefany Neal, Jessica Ott, Jonathan Lennon, Charlie Whitaker, Nathan Whitaker, James Whitaker, Penny Starky and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Neal will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
