Finis Flynn

Finis V. Flynn, age 92 of Nancy, KY passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab. Finis was born on April 19, 1933 at Norfleet, the son of Veantus Flynn and Ada Jane Roberts Flynn. Finis was a farmer and he worked hard to provide for his family. He married Ila Doris Trimble on September 15, 1951 and they shared 67 years of marriage prior to her passing on March 4, 2019. Finis was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Finis was at church every time the doors were opened… he loved gospel music and going to gospel singings, watching hummingbirds, visiting friends and neighbors, he enjoyed farming and watching the family farm, and playing rook. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Burkett (Garnett); grandchildren, Chris Williamson and Megan Burnett (John); great grandchildren, MaKayla Williamson Hansman (Josh), Kayla Williamson Shepherd (Matt), Jazlyn Williamson, Taylor John Burnett and Emma Grace Burnett; one great great grandson, Patrick David Shepherd; extended family members, church family, neighbors and friends who are saddened by his passing.

In addition to his parents, Veantus and Ada Flynn; and his wife, Doris Flynn; Finis was preceded in death by his daughter, Delbra Williamson; brothers, Osten, Albon, Doyle, Delotus, Oval, and Noel Ray Flynn; his sisters, Lillie Mae Tarter and Elveree Hislope; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ottis Trimble and Roxie (Dagley) Trimble.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday , August 6th from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY 42503. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Meece officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
