Gerald Wayne Ping

Gerald Wayne Ping, age 68, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1957 in Somerset, KY to the late Willie and Nora (Colyer) Ping.

Gerald was a member of the First Apostolic Church. His church family was very special to him, providing him with a sense of belonging and purpose. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved frequenting flea markets, enjoyed buying and selling cars, and was an avid follower of UK basketball. Gerald leaves behind the love of his life, Debbie Conatser, and close friends Tim Cole, Clent Ridner and David Sewell.

He is survived by his sisters, Marie Hudson of Somerset, Loraine Whitaker of Ferguson, Alberta (Howard) Miller of Somerset and Linda Mefford of Corbin; his brothers, Don (Linda) Ping of Science Hill and Richard Ping of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews, and other family members who are saddened by his passing.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Daulton, Deloris Ping, Zena Ping and Thelma Phillips; brothers, Arnold Ping and Carneal Ping.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 11:30 until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

His funeral service will follow on Friday, April 10, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Cox officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
