Joan Bowling

Mrs. Joan Bowling, age 92 of Bronston, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at her son’s home in Bronston.
She was born on November 3, 1932, in Confluence, Kentucky, daughter of the late Elmer and Sallie Bailey Huff. She enjoyed gospel music, reading, and was a big fan of Kentucky Basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. She loved animals and had numerous dogs and cats and deer that would eat out of her hands. She nursed birds, squirrels, rabbits and a possum back to health. She attended 1st Baptist Church of Burnside.
Joan was united in marriage to Jewel Bowling who preceded her in death on July 15, 2016.
Survivors include her sons, Garry (Josie) Bowling of Bronston, KY, Kevin (Michele) Bowling of Watsonville, CA; grandsons, Eddison, Jonathan, Michael and Stephen; granddaughters, Junnadel, Joryann and Jeraldine; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews as well as special friends and her caregivers, Norita and Marites.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Edward, Omar and Estill and 5 sisters, Faye, Ruth, Caroline, Joyce and Nora. Joan was the last of the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
